Biography
Cemile Bahar Balaban is an instructor of academic English writing in the Intercultural English Language Programs at OSU. She is also a Fulbright scholar from Turkey and a current PhD student in the Multilingual Language Education program at OSU. Prior to her affiliation with OSU, she worked as an instructor in the Department of Foreign Languages at Aksaray University in Turkey between 2014-2020. Her position included teaching conversation and writing skills to English as a second/foreign language learners from various countries in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, as well as providing training and supervision for pre-service English teachers in the areas of Applied Linguistics and Intercultural Communication Skills. In addition to her teaching duties, Bahar has also created community service projects such as, running a non-profit English conversation club, organizing nationwide English speech contests and fundraising for people with disabilities and stray animals.
