Application Deadline: Last date to submit a completed application, including financial guarantees from sponsors.

Last possible arrival date: Students should arrive and check in with the ALP office by 4:00pm on the last possible arrival date.  The ALP Office is located in 356 Arps Hall. Late arrivals may incur and be responsible for paying additional charges to The Ohio State University.

Placement Testing: New and eligible continuing students will take the placement test. The test is about 3 hours. The test usually begins at 9:00am, but please review the Welcome Schedule for confirmation. Continuing students will receive a notice of eligibility if they can take the placement test.

New Student Orientation: All new students in ALP must attend the New Student Orientation. Students will learn about ALP and its policies and meet the other new students in the program that term.

ALP Classes Begin: This is the first day of class for new and continuing students. It’s important to attend the first few days of class because students will complete an additional battery of diagnostic assessments to ensure accurate placement in the program. This is especially important for new students. The ALP office member will email you your schedule prior to the first day of class.

ALP Classes End: This is the last day of regular ALP classes. Students still have to complete final testing after classes end.

Final Testing: All enrolled students are required to take the final testing. The test is about 3 hours. Please note the testing date before making travel arrangements to leave Columbus.

OSU Session Dates: These are the dates to be used for US immigration documents and sponsor-related inquiries. For example, Form I-20s, DS-2019s, and visas must be valid during these dates for a student to study.
