Biography
Alison Hounshell has been teaching ESL in higher education since 2008 and has worked in universities in the United States, as well as in Europe and Asia. While earning her bachelor’s degree at the University of Cincinnati, she studied abroad, which led her to pursue a master’s degree that would allow her work closely with diverse cultures. In addition to teaching, Alison has served on multiple curriculum committees, led course design projects, and coordinated program skill areas. She has also created an ESL Business program and co-created an ESL Pathway program. Alison especially enjoys teaching in the areas of public speaking, business, writing and pronunciation. Some of her favorite hobbies include reading memoirs and historical fiction, spending time with her pet pug and traveling to other countries. Her favorite city in the world is Tokyo.
