Biography
Laurentia Sumarni (she/her) is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Multilingual Language Education program. Before she relocated to the Ohio State University in 2021, she had been teaching English to pre-service teachers at Sanata Dharma University, Indonesia since 2000. She taught language skill courses (listening, speaking, and writing), vocabulary, translation, interpreting, and sociolinguistics. Her research interests include multilingual perspective in ELT, translanguaging, and sociolinguistics. She loves dogs, books, movies, and learning languages. She loves teaching and she thinks that being a teacher is the most proactive way to make the world a better place.
